Ciao a tutti!
Well, September is here! The kids are back in school, football is back, and the Colombo Club is heading into one of my favorite times of the year. This September is an especially big one for us: we are celebrating 106 years of the Colombo Club!
One hundred and six years is a remarkable milestone—generations of members, families, friendships, dinners, traditions, laughter, and memories. What makes this year even more special is that, for the first time, the Colombo Club and our Women’s Auxiliary will celebrate our anniversary together. We may be two organizations with our own traditions, but we are one Colombo family, and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate.

I hope we fill the hall and make it a night to remember. The next day, Sunday, September 13, the Club will host the Italian American Federation of the East Bay’s Queen Coronation Banquet. Check the Club website for details and tickets.
A big grazie to everyone who helped make August another busy and enjoyable month at the Club. From the Women’s Auxiliary Back-to-School Dinner and our Assembly Meeting to all of the work happening behind the scenes, it takes a lot of people to keep this place moving. I am grateful for the members and volunteers who give their time so generously.
A Friendly Dining Room Reminder
I also want to share a quick reminder about something that has caused a little confusion from time to time. Our dinners are all-you-can-eat while you are dining with us, and we absolutely want you to enjoy the meal—seconds included! However, food may not leave the dining hall. That includes bread, salad, entrées, desserts, or other items from the meal.
Announcements & Save the Dates
Board Elections. Elections are coming in November, and we need members willing to serve. If you are interested in running for a Board position, please visit the Club website, complete the candidate application, include a short bio, and submit it to Dino Renetti.
Halloween Family Dinner. Save the date: Saturday, October 24, from 5:00–9:00 p.m. It is a co-ed family dinner and a great way to get into the Halloween spirit.
Children’s Christmas Party. Saturday, December 12, from noon–4:00 p.m. Santa, presents, music, food, and plenty of fun. Watch the website for sign-up information.
October is Italian American Heritage and Culture Month. We will have plenty to celebrate, and I look forward to sharing more next month.
