May’s Women’s Auxiliary President Message

I’ll bet your Easter was made memorable with your family sharing Italian traditions and fantastic food along with Easter egg hunts with the littles. As May brings the gentle breezes and warmer weather, we watch the seedlings growing in our gardens and the

first tomatoes (Early Girl) are just about ready to pick and eat. The rest are just tiny fruits, herbs and vegetables not yet mature enough to build a salad with yet.

I hope you have made reservations with Lisa Baumer for our Mother’s Day Dinner on May 9th. Let’s celebrate Mom, They are serving Italian Pot Roast with Pesto Pasta. Please bring other relatives and friends to make it extra special (see flyer). As always, I want to thank the volunteers, decorators and donations given to help make our dinners exceptional. Your help is much appreciated.

This month we celebrate Mother’s Day, May 10th, and Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th. Each month the Men have a Co-ed dinner that we may attend. This month it’s May 28th. They will be serving pork roast and Tortellini Alfredo. Sounds good to me. Reservations can be made on the Colombo Club website.

Auxiliary members – Our next meeting is on Wednesday, May 20th at 6:30 pm, in the Isabella Room. We will have a speaker from St. Vincent’s Day Home.

Last month we added several new members to our Auxiliary. If you are of Italian descent and want to become a member of our Auxiliary, please contact a member to get an application. We also accept applications from the wives of the Colombo Club members. We would love to have you join.
