Joe Ianora’s June Message
Ciao a tutti!
First, congratulations to the Ladies Auxiliary on their very successful Mother’s Day Dinner, and a happy belated Mother’s Day to all of our mothers!
Second, Happy Father’s Day to all of our dads! Our June birthday dinners will feature Father-Son Nights, and the menu will be spaghetti and meatballs.
June signals the beginning of summer! What better way to kick off the season than by bringing your whole family, friends, and neighbors to Pizza Night on June 20th Our very own Danny Foster and company will be providing us with an amazing pizza dinner. Additionally, Michael Covione will once again be providing popcorn and cotton candy. Please plan to bring your family to this fun-filled evening!
Updates
We have updated our apparel and wardrobe room. There are many different items available, including jackets, polos, new hats, and all kinds of new merchandise. Please stop by and check it out!
Our Bocce Tournament is coming soon. Whether you play bocce or not, this is always a great time. Come hang out with us, enjoy some great food, and spend time with your fellow members.
We are now serving Prosecco at the Club!
As a reminder, all July birthday dinners and the Past Presidents Night dinner are family dinners. Mark your calendars, make your reservations, and plan to bring your family and friends. Thank you for supporting our Club!
Lastly, we held an Assembly meeting during the second week of May. Assembly meetings are an open forum for our members to attend, break bread, and talk about what is happening at the Club — past, present, and future. Sadly, attendance at this meeting was very poor. I have mixed emotions about this because, while it was gratifying to induct 17 new members into the Club, it was frustrating to see such a low turnout. The conversation was rich, and we walked away with some great new ideas for the Club, as well as ideas to help improve the “member experience” for all of us.
Here are a few highlights from the meeting:
Assembly attendance is low. Both the Board and those assembled discussed how we can encourage more involvement in these important meetings.
Website update: We have shifted to online reservations and launched a brand-new website. Members will still be able to call in reservations, but that option will be available on a limited basis.
Member information: The website now allows members to update their addresses and contact information. If you are not receiving the electronic newsletter, please visit the website and make sure your information is current.
As always, if you have an idea for an event you would like to see held at our Club, or if you would like to volunteer, please contact me at the email address below.
I look forward to seeing you at the Colombo Club this month!
Ci Vediamo,
