Ciao a tutti!
Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone is enjoying the heart of summer with family and friends.
It is hard to believe June has already come and gone. What a great month we had at the Colombo Club! I truly enjoyed celebrating with so many granddads, dads, and sons during our Father-Son Nights. It was also a special bonus to have some of the moms join us for the celebration. And, of course, it is always wonderful to see the “kids” coming home from college and returning to the Colombo Club for a great meal of spaghetti and meatballs.
A big thank you to Marty Castell and Scott Osterholt for handing out the Oakland A’s memorabilia. It added a fun touch to an already great evening.
We also had a fantastic Bocce Tournament thanks to the Nardi Brothers. Good food, good bocce, and great company — it does not get much better than that. Put it on your calendar for next year, even if you only come for lunch. It is always a great time!
Our Pizza Night was another wonderful event. We are very fortunate to have Danny Foster, the member who makes all the focaccia for our birthday dinners, volunteer every other year to make all the pizzas for this special dinner. Nothing beats pizza for dinner — except pizza for dinner at the Colombo Club! Thank you to Danny and to everyone who attended.
This month, all of our birthday dinners are Family Nights. That means you are welcome to bring the entire family, along with friends, to enjoy our always-popular roasted chicken dinner. I have yet to meet a guest who did not walk away satisfied and stuffed! Please support the Club this month by giving your cook a night off and joining us for a wonderful meal.
Also in July, we will celebrate Past Presidents Night. This event is open to all members of the Club, and we encourage you to bring your family and guests as we honor the past presidents who have helped lead and shape the Colombo Club over the years. In addition to a special menu, there will be dancing in the ballroom after dinner. The dinner will be held on July 25.
Looking ahead to August, we will celebrate Father-Daughter Month. Both birthday dinners will be dedicated to these special relationships. This was always a very meaningful occasion for my daughter and me, and I encourage you to plan to attend with your daughter. As always, family and friends are welcome.
We are also looking for a few dedicated members to train to help run our always-popular Incentive Program at each birthday dinner. This is a great way to become more involved in the Club, and it is critically important to our financial success. When you are asked to help, please consider stepping up and saying yes.
